The Executive Committee serves as the Board of Directors of the Council of State Government-WEST (CSG-WEST), reviewing the work and activities of the policy committees, adopting policy positions for the organization and annually selecting participants for the Western Legislative Academy. The committee is comprised of the four CSG-WEST officers, the presiding legislative officers and ranking minority leaders in each chamber of the 13 western states, the chair and vice chair of CSG-WEST policy committees, and other legislators appointed by the presiding legislative officer in each chamber of each member state.

The Executive Committee of CSG-WEST works with staff and officers of the Western Governors’ Association in support of western issues that have a broad consensus of support. The CSG-WEST Executive Committee also collaborates with staff and leaders of the Western Municipal Conference and the Western Interstate Region of the National Association of Counties to insure consistent and creative advocacy of the West’s interests by state and local political leaders.
